Tønsbergfest 2026 

An open and inclusive city festival celebrating the cultural diversity of the Tønsberg region through three days of experiences for all ages.

From June 5–7, Tønsberg city centre transforms into a vibrant festival arena filled with culture, history, music and activities. Visitors and locals alike are invited to experience the many stories that shape Norway’s oldest city — from the Viking Age and medieval times to coastal culture and modern city life.

Kur Sauna – Karistranda

The sauna is located at Karistranda, with a view out to the Larviksfjord. Experience the wind and the weather from inside a well-heated sauna. You can take a cold bath just outside the sauna. Open all year round.

The sauna is located at Karistranda, close to Larvik town centre. There is electrical heat, ready for use. 

 

Guided tour in The Klåstad Hall at the museum

The Viking Age was a time of major change, with growing trade networks and the rise of early towns and harbours.

At Slottsfjell Museum, you can discover the Klåstad Ship — a Viking shipwreck from around the year 1000, once loaded with whetstones from Eidsborg.
