This summer, FLOP Museum opens in the heart of Tønsberg, offering a one-of-a-kind exhibition of products and ideas that completely flopped – from Google Glass and the Think car to yellow ketchup and failed tech gadgets.

Funny and surprising, the museum also carries an important message: failure is a natural and necessary part of innovation. FLOP invites you to laugh, reflect and rediscover forgotten flops from the past decades.

Perfect for adults, teens, tourists and curious minds of all ages. Expect about an hour of learning and fun – and a nostalgic trip through innovation's biggest missteps.

The Whale catcher Southern Actor

"Southern Actor" was built i 1950 for Sevilla Whaling Co. Ltd which was managed by Chr. Salvesen & Co., Scotland. The funnel still carries Salvesens colours. The whale catcher was brought to Sandefjord in 1989 and has undergone extensive restoration with former whalers having made an active contribution. It is fully operative with its original steam engine intact. Southern Actor is the only whale catcher from the Modern Whaling Epoch still found in original working order.
