Jo Berger Myhre i Brøtsøbruddet

Experience bassist, composer, and sound artist Jo Berger Myhre together with an outstanding ensemble of musicians from Norway’s creative music scene.

Myhre is known for his collaborations with artists such as Nils Petter Molvær, Frida Ånnevik, and Geir Sundstøl, as well as his own projects including Splashgirl, Djupet, and a duo with Ólafur Björn Ólafsson of Sigur Rós. He has also gained international recognition through releases on the London-based label RareNoise Records.

His music inhabits the space between improvisation, ambient, and experimental contemporary music, drawing inspiration from sources including classical Iranian music. Using double bass, electric bass, and electronics, Myhre creates immersive soundscapes that balance intimacy with intensity.

In winter 2026, he released PENTA, an album that expands his exploration of harmonic, rhythmic, and sonic possibilities.
