Viking Badstue

At Viking Badstue in Husøysund, you can relax on a floating sauna with views across the fjord. Alternate between the warmth of the sauna and refreshing dips in the sea, or cool off in the plunge pool built into the floating platform.

Floating sauna with a plunge pool
The floating sauna accommodates up to 20 people and is normally heated before you arrive. Facilities include a changing room, toilet and lounge with a dining table, as well as a fridge, drinking water and a Bluetooth speaker. One of its distinctive features is the plunge pool inside the floating platform, providing direct access to the seawater without stepping outside onto the terrace. Between sauna sessions, you can relax outdoors and take in the fjord views.

Shared sauna, private bookings and aufguss
You can book an individual place in a shared sauna session or reserve the entire floating sauna for a private gathering. Standard sessions last 1 hour and 50 minutes. Viking Badstue also offers aufguss, a guided sauna ritual in which a sauna master uses heat, steam, aromatic scents and fanning techniques to circulate warmth throughout the sauna.

Sauna cruises on the fjord
For a different experience, book a sauna boat with a captain and combine a cruise along the fjord with time in the sauna. The operator also offers group experiences, gift cards and options for regular visitors. Check the booking website for current availability.
