Rørestrand beach

Rørestrand is a perfect beach to be at once the sun shines.The beach has a large nice grass area, beach volleyball court, beach bar, municipal toilets and garbage dunks. The coastal path in Horten goes straight past the beach so it's nice to combine a trip there with a dip in the sea. Bathing on Rørestrand can also easily be combined with a shopping trip in Horten city center, which is only 2 km away.

Rørestrand camping is right behind the beach.

Holt Farm

Holt Gård is located in Undrumsdal, 10-12 minutes drive both from Horten and Tønsberg. The farm produce organic food, such as vegetables, eggs, milk and meat, as well as some fruit and berries for juices and jams. The farm has varied opening hours through the year.

OPEN FARM
Open farm with café in Bryggerhuset. In the cafe you can buy freshly made baked goods, pizza and ice-cream (in season). Holt Gård serve mainly organic and self-produced food. See opening hours.

At the farm you can enjoy the farm life, visit the animals, jump in the hay and maybe go horseback riding.

GROUPS & MEETINGS
Holt Gård is availiable for groups who want to experience the life on the farm, or for celebrations throughout the year. Each season offers different activities and experiences.

Holt Gård can accommodate up to 65 people for celebrations in Bryggerhuset, and up to 25 people in the cafe. Bryggerhuset is suitable for meetings of up to 50 people. Read more at Holt Gård's website, and contact the hosts for a successful meeting.

Heisetra

In Vestre Kodal you will find most of the Sandefjord Tourist Association's blue-marked trails. The association's cabins on Heia are a good starting point for trips. The place consists of two facilities: Heisetra with rental, and Slirabu as an unattended cabin with DNT lock and 9 beds.

TOUR AND ACTIVITY OPPORTUNITIES
The cabin is located next to Heivannet and Svartåa and adjacent to the tourist association's 100 km marked trail network, in some of Vestfold's finest and most varied forest terrain. In addition to being the starting point for many of the tourist association's blue-marked trails, the cabin is also connected to two nature/cultural trails: Svartåa cultural trail (9.7 km) and Heia-Vestby cultural trail (7.6 km). Sandefjord Tourist Association has also marked a permanent nature trail around Heivannet with 10 posts. The cabin has a nice local area with opportunities for fishing, swimming and picking berries and mushrooms. In winter, ski slopes are often groomed in the area around Setra. Heisetra is adapted for children and the disabled. Starting from this cabin, you can walk on marked paths all the way up to Hardangervidda.

The Children's Tour Association has prepared four small maps with tips for four child-friendly tours in the area: Tour to Grevesteinen (approx. two km each way, great view from the top), Tour to Slira dam, Upper and northern Heivann round (approx. four km) and Heivannet round (about two km).

ROAD DESCRIPTION
There is parking 300 meters from the cabin. Heia is 2.5 miles northwest of Sandefjord. From Raveien in Haukerød take fv. 305 towards Andebu and Kodal approx. 7.5 km north. When you reach Skjeggerød, turn left towards Åsrum and western Kodal. Follow this road towards Åsrum, to the left over the Trollsåsbrua and to Pipenholt. There you take county road 601 to the right towards Hvitstein and Heia. Follow the road approx. a mile, the last couple of kilometers on a gravel road, until you see a sign for Heia and a car park further down the road on the left. Heia is located approx. 500 meters down a dirt road west of the car park.

***Car driving down to the cabin is only permitted for utility vehicles and the transport of disabled people. Driving down to the cabin is not possible in winter.

Fjøsnissens Verden – Family Park

Welcome home to the home of Fjøsnissen. Experience the Fjøsnissens playful antics and get up close to many fascinating animals. Enjoy a variety of games and activities in a fun setting that takes you back in time. The area is just the right size for adults to relax while children play freely.

Tickets are purchased at the entrance.

Cuddling with the animals

On the farm you can meet rabbits, alpacas, sheep, goats, pigs, pot-bellied pigs, hens, chickens, ducks and peacocks.

Food and drink

Feel free to bring your own food – on the farm there are hot grills for free use. In the area there are several benches and tables where you can enjoy lunch. The farm has its own kiosk with a selection of food and drinks.

Metro bowling

Metro bowling Sandefjord is located at Pindsle, 3 km from the town centre.

It is possible to have railing on all the courts, which makes it easier for children.

During the weekends the music is turned up, the lights are dimmed and music videos are playing on the screens.

Right next door is Metro indoor playground and Laser games. Restaurant & Sports bar.

Høyt & Lavt Climbing Park

Høyt & Lavt – Climbing for EVERYONE

Høyt & Lavt is a family activity that is just as suitable for adults as children. You can climb the trees, zipline, or sit down with the little ones in the family. Feel the mastery of a day filled with unique and exciting experiences. A perfect place for a family activity, a trip with the school class, or a different team day with the company!

The climbing park is a 45 minutes car ride from Sandefjord, Tønsberg, Larvik, Porsgrunn or Skien.

The little ones in the family deserve to have as much fun as the older kids. That's why Høyt & Lavt has developed Nett & Sprett – where children can play and have fun in different nets. Nett & Sprett does not require any kind of equipment or training. After getting your ticket the only thing you need to think about is playing around and forgetting about time.

Høyt & Lavt – Cafe
Høyt & Lavt Café serves good food while you are out climbing. You will find delicious hot and cold dishes as well as snacks, ice cream, and pastries. Enjoy your food on the go or sit down in the cozy café or outside if it’s good weather. There is good seating outside in the courtyard and pleasant rooms inside for those who want to enjoy the meal inside.

Destination Lågen
In the archipelago county of Vestfold, the area around the climbing park is a fantastic forest destination. With beautiful outdoor areas near Numedalslågen in Kjærra Fossepark and beautiful and natural accommodation options in Laagen, the area around the climbing park is a perfect excursion area that is worth both a day visit and over several days.

Metro Sandefjord

Metro Sandefjord is located at Pindsle, 3 km from the town centre. The indoor playground offers a safe space where the parents can either sit and relax in the cafe or watch the children play. The indoor playground also has Laser games, Bowling & Biljard. The activities are perfect for children aged 1 – 12 years old. Metro indoor playground is right next to Metro Bowling. All children need adult supervision over the age of 16.

Birthday celebration at Metro

Metro indoor playground offers a fun super-birthday with bowling, entrance to the indoor playground and food and drinks. This is also perfect for schools, sports clubs, associations etc.

Tønsberg Swimming Pool

In the warmer pool there are three lanes designated to exercise swimming. There are also diving boards at 1 meter, 3 meters and 6 meters above the water in the colder pool.

There are swimming toys for both old and young children and an exercise room for the adults as well as a sauna.

Closed in june for maintenance.
