KomiKnut returns to Horten for another evening of standup comedy, this time featuring Henrik Fladseth and Lars Petersen.
Henrik Fladseth is known for his direct, observational style, drawing humour from everyday situations and experiences that many people can recognise.
Lars Petersen has performed on stages across Norway and returns to his hometown of Horten. This time, he turns his humour towards both himself and the city he grew up in.
The evening brings together two comedians with different perspectives on everyday life, people and Horten.
With her latest book, Det har skjedd verre ting i utlandet, Marte Michelet explores her own upbringing, family history and identity. The book grew out of her relationship with her father, the writer Jon Michelet.
Combining family history and social history, Michelet explores themes such as the desire for freedom, political idealism, grief and the relationship between parents and children. She also reflects on how memories and the stories we tell about ourselves can shape our identity.
For this event, Michelet meets writer, biographer and editor Alf van der Hagen for a conversation about the book and her writing process. They will discuss memories, family, identity and how literature can be used to examine our own lives.
Alf van der Hagen has worked with literary conversations and interview based biographies for several decades. He has written books about authors including Dag Solstad, Kjell Askildsen, Suzanne Brøgger and Ingvar Ambjørnsen. In 2026, he received the Vestfold Literature Prize for his work highlighting Vestfold authors Ingvar Ambjørnsen and Dag Solstad.
Marte Michelet is a journalist and author. She received the Brage Prize for Den største forbrytelsen in 2014 and the Norwegian Booksellers’ Non Fiction Prize for Hva visste hjemmefronten? in 2018. The latter also sparked an extensive debate among historians.

Opera and musical theatre have become a regular part of Kirkefestdagene at Furu Egg. The event combines live performances with dinner and an evening together.
Soprano Margrethe Fredheim and bass baritone Magne Fremmerlid perform with Svein Rustad as accompanist. Fredheim has won several international competitions and has worked as a permanent member of opera companies in Germany. She is now based in Oslo.
Magne Fremmerlid has had a long career as an opera singer and has also been connected to MiSK. Together with Svein Rustad, they present a programme featuring opera and musical theatre.

Sande Art Association welcomes visitors to an exhibition by Ukrainian artist Volodymyr Filippov.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, 19 September at 12:00 PM and is open every Saturday and Sunday until 4 October.
The artist will be present on some of the exhibition days, giving visitors an opportunity to meet the artist and explore the exhibition.

Join author and journalist Jens M. Johansson in conversation with author and journalist Ina Strøm about his new novel Bare la dem komme (2026).
The novel follows Tom, who visits his mother Camilla after two years without contact. She lives alone in a run down house by a lake and is seriously ill. As time passes, Tom asks her to tell him about her life. Her stories explore love, restlessness, rebellion, loss and longing.
Bare la dem komme explores the relationship between a mother and son, memories, grief and what remains when a person approaches the end of life.
The conversation will explore the novel and themes including literature, family relationships, grief, love and the life stories we leave behind.

Welcome to the opening of an exhibition featuring Ragnar Almén (born 1949), who has been an important figure in Vestfold’s art scene since the mid 1970s.
Almén works across painting, printmaking and sculpture. His work explores autobiographical and existential themes, as well as identity, politics, religion and human experience. He has also created works depicting landscapes, still lifes, the human figure and interiors.
As a young artist, Almén received artistic guidance from Gunnar Romberg in Tønsberg and printmaker Bjørn-Willy Mortensen in Åsgårdstrand. He made his debut at Galleri Norske Grafikere in Oslo in 1976.
In 2012, Almén’s work was presented in a major retrospective exhibition at Haugar Vestfold Kunstmuseum. His works have been acquired by institutions including the National Gallery of Norway, the Norwegian Arts Council and Vestfold County.
Kristian Valen returns to the stage with his sixth full length production, “Bare VisVas”.
After six years of touring with Fartøy Valen seiler igjen, Valen presents a new show where Norwegian and international celebrities meet his collection of characters.
Familiar figures such as Stoltenberg and Brauten return in new versions, alongside several of Valen’s other characters. The show combines impressions, music, comedy and new material.
Kristian Valen rose to prominence in 2003 and has since worked as a comedian, impressionist and performer, with stage shows and television productions.
“Bare VisVas” is a full evening of musical performances, impressions and characters from Valen’s distinctive comedy universe.
Tønsberg Skatehall opens for a new season at Messehall B. The event offers activities for anyone who wants to try skateboarding or enjoy a session at the skate hall.
Admission is free, and visitors can enjoy free grilled food and borrow equipment at no cost. Competitions will also be held for participants of different skill levels.

Since 2012, the Midgard Competition has provided a platform for young classical musicians. This anniversary concert features three former prize winners who have since established themselves as classical performers: cellist Birgitta Oftestad, soprano Eirin Rognerud and pianist Nikita Knykin.
The Norwegian Navy Band presents a programme featuring works by Friedrich Gulda, Edvard Grieg, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Modest Mussorgsky. The concert is hosted by the band’s presenter, Inge Hatlelid Mortensen.
Birgitta Oftestad opens the concert with two movements from Friedrich Gulda’s Cello Concerto. Eirin Rognerud and the Norwegian Navy Band perform three songs by Edvard Grieg, followed by Nikita Knykin performing the third movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto.
The programme also includes the Midgard Competition’s own fanfare, Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in B minor and excerpts from Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.
The concert is conducted by Ingar Bergby, who served as principal conductor of the Norwegian Navy Band from 2008 to 2014 and has since returned as a guest conductor on several occasions. He has also conducted a number of Norwegian and Nordic symphony orchestras.
