The permanent exhibition is presented in the historic setting of the former Agnes Fabrikker at Sjøparken, Norway's last match factory, alongside the atmospheric café Havfuglen and the beautiful Narvesen ice-kiosk from 1923, designed by architects Lorenz Ree and Carl Buch.
Around eighty monumental oil paintings are exhibited over 1,600 square meters in a dark and mystic circuit, taking the audience through the heights and depths of Nerdrum's timeless dreamworlds.

The museum also hosts events such as concerts, lectures, and special presentations on architecture and classical figurative painting.
