In addition to organic food, the shop offers a selection of sustainable, environmentally friendly, and small-scale produced goods, including interior items, cleaning products, skincare, and kitchen equipment. The products are carefully selected by the team behind Fat og Fe.

Experience Svenner Lighthouse

Svenner lighthouse is located at the outskirts of a group of islands outside of Larvik, and is one of the most popular places for the locals. Svenner is a magical place in the summertime, and is perfect for a day full of swimming, crab fishing and sunbathing – all with a spectacular view. The islands is perfect to explore by foot, although it is somewhat challenging and difficult to reach because of the terrain.

The climate at Svenner is harsh and has a peculiar, botanical diveristy. The archipelago is of great importance for migrating small birds in the spring. A diversity of birds nest here in April-June. Bird life was preserved in 1935, and there are certain prohibitions on hunting and removing eggs.

About the lighthouse
Svenner lighthouse and its buildings were preserved in 1997 and made accessible to the public. The lighthouse is one of 37 selected cultural environments with regional and national conservation value in Vestfold.

The lighthouse is located on the island of Korpekollen in the archipelago of Svenner about two nautical miles from the coastline, and was first lit in 1874. The original tower, which was square and made of stone, was built by prisoners from Akershus fortress. The lighthouse keeper "Steinhuset" which was erected at the same time, is still there. Today's cast iron tower was built in 1900, along with new housing and outbuildings. The tower is 18.7 meters high and the top extends over 40 meters above sea level.

The history of Svenner is much older than the lighthouse. From the Middle Ages, Svenner has been an important port for local fishermen and other seafarers.. At the beginning of 1790 a fixed pilot was stationed at Svenner. Ulabrand, Anders Jacob Johansen from Ula in Vestfold, was one of the nautical pilots who had their base here. The lighthouse has not been staffed since late 2002 and was automated in 2003.

Svenner marina
Svenner is a popular port, especially among the locals. Even though the harbor at Svenner is gentle, you should not travel in and out of the port when there is a lot of wind. You can enter Svenner at both the Nordbogen, Røvika and in Fyrhavna. There are great mooring opportunities along the mountain or along the pier, and good anchorage in the sandy bottom.

Transportation
Boat transport by ferry in the summer season, or contact Stavern Dykkersenter tel. +47 92842833 for transportation and taxi boat.

Gatherings and accommodation at Svenner Lighthouse
The beautiful stone house is today open to anyone who wants a special night in the lighthouse. It is arranged for rental of the boathouse (max. 30 persons) and with the possibility of accommodation through Svenner Fyr Kystled. There are 19 beds in 6 bedrooms in Steinhuset. Overnight guests must bring their own duvet / sleeping bag as well as food and drinking water. The kitchen has cooking facilities and necessary equipment. The buildings have, through many years of voluntary efforts, been put on hold with members from the coastal teams, housekeeping and with financial support from, among others, the Coastal Administration and the Sparebankstiftelsen.

Information and booking can be found at Svenner.no

There are outdoor toilets on the site.

Stavern

In the summer months, it boils in Stavern and the small streets teem with life. The population is multiplying, and the place offers a wonderful southern atmosphere. Here you can walk in historic surroundings, visit the small artist galleries that are close together or enjoy lazy days on the beach.

The charming Hotel Wassillioff is uniquely situated in the heart of Stavern, with a short distance to everything. The hotel offers light and airy rooms in historic surroundings. If you visit Smak av Stavern, you can enjoy a tempting meal while almost sitting with your toes on the water's edge in Stavern Gjestehavn.

A short way from town to the archipelago
In Stavern, it is a short distance from city life to the archipelago, and wonderful nature experiences await. With a taxi boat or with the regular boat M/S Viksfjord you can take the trip out to Svenner lighthouse, which is located on the island of Korpekollen at the far end of the sea gap in an idyllic archipelago. The island is one of boaters' most popular spots, and is perfect for a day of swimming, sun-warmed rocky cliffs and crab fishing. M/S Viksfjord can also be rented for companies, activities, swimming trips, fishing trips and more.

It is not without reason that Stavern is called the artist's town by the sea. Here the art galleries are close together in atmospheric surroundings, and you will find many of them inside Fredriksvern Verft. Here it is great to walk in historic surroundings, at what was once Norway's first main station for the navy in Stavern.

Hiking along the coastal path
Further from Fredriksvern Verft you can follow the coastal path up to Minnehallen and on from here towards Rakke. The coastal path is a full 35 km and takes you to Helgeroa along rocky cliffs, sandy beaches, shallow coves and various types of forest. This is a hiking experience at its best, with a short distance between hiking shoes and high heels. You will pass Mølen along the route, a powerful natural monument from the last ice age. Mølen is part of the UNESCO European Geopark, and among the pebbles you can find over 100 different rock types.

Tjøme

From Tønsberg and Nøtterøy we cross Vrengen bridge over to Tjøme, the islands furthest out in the Oslo Fjord towards the fresh seas of the Skagerrak. The three main islands, Tjøme, Brøtsø and Hvasser together with lots of small islands with sheltered harbours is a well-known holiday paradise where one can experience good swimming possibilities during the summer's long and sunny days. Tjøme claims to have most sunny days in the year!

Tjøme's area is 38 km². 4.500 people live here permanently. During the summer there are between 20.000-30.000 residents on this popular holiday island, due to the summer cottages here. There are restaurants, hotels, cottages to rent, camping grounds and a school camp.

As "Places of Interest" we must mention Tjøme's nature and Færder National Park.

"The World's End" Verdens Ende lies furthest south on Tjøme. The area has fantastic views towards the Skagerrak. Superb bathing possibilities from smooth rocks and islands. The name "World's End" originated amongst travellers here in the beginning of the 20th century. Before that the area was best known as vantage point for pilots looking for ships. The well known "basket lighthouse" and the restaurant were built in 1932. The long pier from the mainland out towards the small islands forms a protected harbour basin. Here lies one of Tjøme's largest Marinas with service buildings.

Hvasser – with the village of Sandøsund also has a unique contact with the skerries and the sea. South of Hvasser there are good rambling and bathing possibilities. On the northern part of the island is the well-known bathing beach; Lilleskagen.

Tjøme all the year round…
Tjøme is also an attraction for those who seek the first sign of spring or the beautiful colours of autumn. The foaming spray from a raging sea over the rocks at "World's End" or the clear, calm days of winter can be a worthwhile experience.

Sjoparken

Sjøparken is located at Agnes near Stavern, where a former industrial area has been transformed into a neighbourhood of art, culture, cafés and seaside activities. Here you can visit Nerdrum Museum, explore artists' studios, enjoy a coffee at Agnes Torg or see the Tangaroa raft that crossed the Pacific Ocean. The historic factory buildings and waterfront setting make Sjøparken an interesting place to explore, whether you come for the art, the activities or a walk by the sea.

Discover the art of Odd Nerdrum
At the heart of Sjøparken is Nerdrum Museum, housed in the historic Pipehuset building at the former Agnes factories. The museum presents a permanent exhibition of paintings and other works spanning more than half a century of Odd Nerdrum's artistic career. The museum explores Nerdrum's figurative paintings and the stories behind them. The former industrial building provides a distinctive setting, with traces of its manufacturing past still visible in the surroundings. Guided tours can also be booked in advance.

Explore the artists' studios
Kunst i Sjøparken brings together artists and craftspeople working with painting, photography, printmaking, ceramics, textiles and jewellery. The former factory buildings now house studios and galleries featuring a wide range of artistic styles and techniques. Exhibitions and open studio events take place throughout the year. Visitors can discover the local creative community and see works made using different materials and methods. Opening times vary between studios, so check which exhibitions are open before visiting.

See the Tangaroa raft from the Pacific expedition
One of Sjøparken's most distinctive attractions is Tangaroa, the balsa raft that crossed the Pacific Ocean from Peru to Polynesia in 2006. Led by Norwegian explorer Torgeir Higraff, the expedition was inspired by Thor Heyerdahl's famous Kon-Tiki voyage in 1947. The raft was later used during the filming of the feature film Kon-Tiki and is now displayed in a park area at Sjøparken. Visitors can see a vessel whose story reaches far beyond the shores of Larvik.

Cafés, bouldering and other activities
At Agnes Torg, Havfuglen Café offers food and drinks beneath old chestnut trees. Located next to Nerdrum Museum, it makes a convenient stop between exhibitions. Sjøparken also has a range of activities. At Bulder og Brak, you can try indoor bouldering, while other facilities in the area offer fitness training and martial arts. These activities are operated by different businesses, each with its own opening hours and possible membership or booking requirements.

Combine your visit with a coastal walk
Sjøparken sits beside the Larvik Fjord, close to Lillevikstranda beach and nearby walking areas. Combine a museum visit or coffee break with a stroll by the water or a trip to the beach. The marked Fjordstien coastal trail between Larvik and Stavern passes through Sjøparken. The full route is approximately 9.6 kilometres long, taking walkers past forest trails, beaches, rocky shoreline and small harbours. You can also choose a shorter section of the route for a relaxed walk along the coast.

Plan your visit
Sjøparken is located at Agnes, north of Stavern town centre. The visiting address is Sjøparken, 3290 Stavern. From Larvik, you can take a bus towards Stavern and get off at Agnes or Skaubakken. The outdoor areas are publicly accessible, while the museum, café, artists' studios and activity facilities have their own opening hours. Nerdrum Museum operates with seasonal public opening hours and also offers guided tours by advance booking. Check the museum's website for current opening times and admission prices.

Some artists' studios open during exhibitions and special events, while others welcome visitors by appointment. Several activity providers also require separate arrangements. Check directly with each operator before travelling. Sjøparken has a property information and viewing centre, normally open on weekdays from 8 am to 4 pm, with evening and weekend visits by appointment. These hours apply to the viewing centre only, not to the museums or other attractions.

Visit the Sjøparken website for information about art, activities, cafés and current visitor details.
