The Tangaroa
Tangaroa is the balsa raft used during the Tangaroa Expedition in 2006, a modern recreation of Thor Heyerdahl’s famous Kon-Tiki voyage. Today, the raft is on display at Sjøparken in Larvik.
The Tangaroa Expedition was led by Norwegian Torgeir Higraff and aimed to sail from Peru to Polynesia in 70 days. The raft was built in Peru, and the six-person crew included Olav Heyerdahl, grandson of Thor Heyerdahl.
After the expedition, Tangaroa was transported back to Norway. The raft has since been used in various settings, including as a prop during the filming of Kon-Tiki in Malta in 2011.
Larvik Sauna x Badebast – Sauna Fest
The evening will feature sauna sessions, sea bathing, aufguss, a fire pit, atmospheric lighting and music.
The event will be held on a smaller scale as a test of the concept, focusing on sauna, heat, cold and a social atmosphere by the sea.
Admission to the event area is free. Sauna sessions and aufguss require advance booking/tickets. Prices and booking information will be announced later.
Autumn Exhibition at Fredriksvern
From 3–11 October, the Autumn Exhibition takes place at Fredriksvern Shipyard in Stavern. Eight guest artists will present paintings, prints, ceramics, photography and other art forms in the galleries at the historic shipyard.

The guest exhibitions are open daily from 12:00 to 17:00. The permanent galleries at the shipyard will also be open during the weekends of 3–4 and 10–11 October.
