Gamingfestivalen Polar Party

Polar Party 34 is a five day event featuring gaming, arcade games, social activities, entertainment and hands on technology activities. Gaming takes place around the clock, and participants with a gaming spot can bring their own PC, laptop, monitor or game console. Gaming equipment can also be rented from the organisers.

The event has a dedicated arcade and gaming area with retro and modern game consoles, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, VR and board games.

The programme also includes stage shows, music, competitions and film screenings. In the workshop area, participants can try activities such as laser engraving, 3D printing and programming. The area offers activities for both children and adults.

Polar Party also provides opportunities to meet others and spend the autumn holiday together.

Mal på et handlenett – Barn 6-10 år

Join a painting workshop at MEAH Academy and create your own tote bag. The bags are pre-sewn, allowing children to focus on designing and painting their own artwork.

Children can choose what they want to paint and receive guidance and support throughout the workshop.

The course is a collaboration between Tønsberg Framlag and MEAH Academy.

Den vesle bygda som glemte at det var jul

Christmas is approaching, and TeaterAgentene’s Christmas production is based on Alf Prøysen’s story The Little Village That Forgot It Was Christmas.

The performance takes audiences into Prøysen’s world and introduces several of his well known characters. It also features some of his familiar Christmas songs, including Julekveldsvisa and Du og jeg og dompapen. The performance ends with a traditional Christmas tree dance, with the audience invited to sing along.

The performance lasts approximately 40 minutes and is suitable for children aged 3 and above.

Christmas Concert with Sondre Høymer and Alf Marius Kjærås

Sondre Høymer and Alf Marius Kjærås invite audiences to a Christmas concert at Mariakapellet.

The two guitarists perform familiar Christmas songs arranged for two classical guitars, offering an intimate acoustic setting for seasonal music.

Afternoon Tea – julespesial

During the Christmas season, guests are invited to enjoy a festive afternoon tea in the restaurant.

The menu includes sandwiches, scones and cakes inspired by the flavours of Christmas. Tea from Palais des Thés is served, and a separate wine menu is available for guests who would like to enjoy sparkling wine.

The experience is suited to a relaxed Christmas gathering with friends or family.

TeaterAgentene’s Christmas production is based on Norwegian author Alf Prøysen’s story Den vesle bygda som glemte at det var jul.

The performance brings Prøysen’s characters and storytelling to the stage through theatre, music and humour. The audience will hear several of Prøysen’s well known Christmas songs, including Julekveldsvisa and Du og jeg og dompapen.

The performance ends with a traditional circle around the Christmas tree, with the audience invited to sing along.

The show lasts approximately 40 minutes and is suitable for children aged 3 and above.

We Will Rock You

The musical We Will Rock You comes to Teigen Scene in Tønsberg. Written by British author and comedian Ben Elton, the musical features songs by Queen, adapted with the involvement of band members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

The show includes well known Queen songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want It All, A Kind of Magic, Don't Stop Me Now, I Want to Break Free, Radio Ga Ga, Another One Bites the Dust, Who Wants to Live Forever, We Are the Champions and We Will Rock You, along with several other songs. All songs are performed with their original English lyrics.

The musical premiered at the Dominion Theatre in London in 2002 and ran there for 12 years. The Norwegian premiere took place at Folketeateret in Oslo in 2011.

The production coming to Tønsberg was first staged at Oslo Spektrum in 2024 and later at Kilden Teater and Concert Hall in Kristiansand. The leading roles are played by Tønsberg native Kajsa Sulutvedt as “Scaramouche” and Max Key Graarud as “Galileo”.

Sulutvedt has previously appeared in the musical Grease on tour in Norway and at Teigen Scene in Havet. Graarud has previously appeared in The Book of Mormon and Les Misérables at Folketeateret in Oslo.

Other roles include Tor Endresen as “Buddy”, Kim Fairchild as “Killer Queen”, Håvard Bakke as “Captain Khashoggi” and Ingeborg Walther as “Oz”.

The production is directed by Guro Karijord and Charlotte Brænna, with choreography by Kirsty McDonald and Sara Einbu. Philip S. Johannessen is responsible for lighting and effects, Erik Valderhaug for sound design and Thomas Gallagher for projection design. Torbjørn Alsos Raae is the bandleader, and the producer is Musical Norway AS.
