Østjordet Gård

Østjordet Farm on Tjøme is a family-run farm offering animals, farm life and activities for both children and adults.

Open Farm Day
On selected Sundays during the summer, the farm hosts Open Farm days. Visitors can meet the animals, explore the farm and take part in various activities. The animals include sheep and lambs in spring, horses and ponies, chickens, ducks, peacocks and rabbits.

Activities vary depending on the season and from one Open Farm day to another. Food and drinks are available for purchase, and visitors can spend time in the farmyard or relax by the fire pit.

Children’s birthday parties
Østjordet Farm also offers children’s birthday parties on selected days. Children can meet the animals and experience farm life, while the birthday child gets to be the farm helper and take part in activities such as feeding the animals.

During the rest of the year, daily life on the farm includes animal care and boarding for horses and ponies.

Grytebakke Gård

Visit Grytebakke Farm – a day the kids won’t want to leave!
A real farm experience awaits where children can get close to the animals – for real. Meet everything from small Dexter cows and cuddly goats to mini pigs, llamas and horses, while enjoying nature and life in the countryside.

Open Farm – last Sunday of every month
On the last Sunday of each month, the farm opens its gates for a fun-filled day for the whole family:
– horse riding and jumping in the hay
– tractor and hay wagon rides
– playtime in the “Super Forest” with zipline and climbing areas
– farm café and simple refreshments

Learning through experiences
Grytebakke is also an “Inn på tunet” (Green Care) farm, where children learn through interacting with animals and taking part in simple farm activities. The focus is on achievement, safety and joy. The farm also welcomes kindergartens, school classes and youth groups.

Perfect for birthdays and groups
A children’s birthday party at Grytebakke is an experience in itself. Children can meet the animals, go riding, play in the forest and gather for food in the barbecue hut. Everything is organised, yet still informal and authentic. A farm birthday is an experience children will remember.

Courses, meetings and team building
The farm also caters for all types of groups and company events in a unique countryside setting. Meetings can be combined with activities such as:

Alpakkatur på Verdens Ende

Meet a friendly and curious herd of alpacas on a guided walk through the coastal landscape at Verdens Ende on Tjøme. At Stall Verdens Ende, you can discover the animals' individual personalities, learn how to handle them and enjoy the surrounding archipelago at a gentle pace. The experience lasts approximately one hour and is suitable for families, couples and friends looking for a different kind of outdoor activity.

Take an alpaca for a walk
Sondre, Ivar and Aune are among the alpacas you may meet at Stall Verdens Ende. Each animal has its own personality, and your guide will introduce you to the herd and explain how alpacas behave. Alpacas are social herd animals and prefer to stay together. The whole small herd therefore joins the walk, accompanied by visitors and their guide. Participants aged 12 and over can lead their own alpaca, while younger children may share one with a parent or guardian. Your guide will explain how to handle the alpaca's halter and lead rope.

A guided experience by the sea
Walking alongside alpacas is a memorable way to discover the natural surroundings of Tjøme. The route passes through varied terrain, including paths and sections of road. Along the way, you can enjoy the fresh sea air, coastal scenery and the company of the animals. Your guide will share information about the alpacas and show you how to interact with them. Participants also have the opportunity to help feed the animals with their special feed.

Suitable for families and groups
The alpaca walk welcomes visitors of different ages, provided they can manage the terrain used for the walk. You must be at least 12 years old to lead your own alpaca. Younger children can share an alpaca with a parent or guardian, and all participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Stall Verdens Ende may be able to adapt the pace and route, for example by using roads instead of uneven woodland paths. Contact the organiser before booking if you have particular accessibility needs. Dogs and pushchairs are not permitted on the walk. The stable can also arrange tailored group experiences for birthdays, corporate outings and other gatherings.

Booking and practical information
The walk takes approximately one hour, although the actual duration may vary depending on the alpacas. The activity takes place outdoors. Wear suitable clothing for the weather and sturdy shoes for both roads and natural paths. For animal health and biosecurity reasons, footwear previously used at other farms or stables must be cleaned before arrival. All participants must follow the guide's instructions and respect the animals' welfare. Advance booking is required. Rosenli Gård

Rosenli Gård, just outside Tønsberg, is a welcoming place for families, with a farm animal area, garden, café and farm shop.

Animals and activities
Meet the farm’s six horses, cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits, cows, calves, goats and peacocks. There are also mini carousels for young children.

Autumn at Rosenli Gård
The farm animal area and café are open every Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Children can sign up for rabbit feeding in the café. They will be given herbs to feed the rabbits and information on how to interact with them safely.

Every Sunday from 11:00 to 12:00, there is a guided tour of the farm animal area with pony leading.

Farm café
The café serves cookies, ice cream, soft serve, waffles, pizza, cold drinks and barista coffee.

Farm shop
The dairy and bakery have a self-service shop open every day from 10:00 to 20:00. Pick-your-own vegetables are also available in season.

Admission to the farm animal area NOK 50
Guided tour with pony leading NOK 120. Adult accompanying children NOK 60.
The guided tour also includes access to the garden during opening hours.

Nordgardsetra Farm

Cows, calves, horses, pigs, sheep and chickens walk in the yard, and in the forest you will find the tussiesti, an activity trail for children. There is also an outdoor bakery that produces fresh bread and buns every weekend and pizza if you are lucky.

Ice cream, coffee and, of course, home-made waffles are sold in the guest booth.

Throughout the summer, various courses and themed days about life at Nordgardsetra are organized for children and adults. Here you can come and take part in activities like milking, separation, cheese making, churning butter and cooking prim. And care for and cuddle with the animals, of course. At weekends there is entertainment of various kinds, music, singing, stories, cooking and other activities.

Nordgardsetra is located in the forest a couple of kilometers past Vindfjelltunet with a road all the way up and with parking 100 meters from the yard.

Nordgardsetra is open during the school's summer holidays, every day from week 26-31.

The Deer Farm

Hjortegården is located with a short distance from the E18, close to Borgeskogen in a rural setting on a small hill with a view of forests, fields and meadows. The garden is approx. 4 acres. From the garden you can sit down and enjoy the view of the deers and plants.

Opening hours – Open garden and visitor garden

Hjortegården is open on the following days in 2026: May 23 + 24 and July 12 and 26. from 12.00-15.00 with deer feeding at 14.00. Sale of coffee and ice cream.

Other events will be announced in advance.

The Gamkinn family deer farm breeds and sells deer. It is possible to buy meat products and home-baked flatbread from the self-service farmshop.

Visit a farm – Ramnes Søndre gård

On the farm there are many different activities, bonfires, a farm shop and farm bakery.

Food and drinks
Feel free to bring your own campfire food. The farm sells hot / cold drinks and baked goods from a wood-fired oven / griddle.

Aarholt-tunet Gjestegård (for groups)

The Aarholt-tunet Gjestegård has space for your own thoughts, good conversations, magical moments or simply childish wonder.

In the summer Aarholt Farm invites families to a week full of activities. Experience cutting the sheeps, baking bread, climbing, singing, snuggle with the bunnies, picking eggs from the hens and telling each other good stories. In the winter, couples are invited to couple-courses.

Holt Farm

Holt Gård is located in Undrumsdal, 10-12 minutes drive both from Horten and Tønsberg. The farm produce organic food, such as vegetables, eggs, milk and meat, as well as some fruit and berries for juices and jams. The farm has varied opening hours through the year.

OPEN FARM
Open farm with café in Bryggerhuset. In the cafe you can buy freshly made baked goods, pizza and ice-cream (in season). Holt Gård serve mainly organic and self-produced food. See opening hours.

At the farm you can enjoy the farm life, visit the animals, jump in the hay and maybe go horseback riding.

GROUPS & MEETINGS
Holt Gård is availiable for groups who want to experience the life on the farm, or for celebrations throughout the year. Each season offers different activities and experiences.

Holt Gård can accommodate up to 65 people for celebrations in Bryggerhuset, and up to 25 people in the cafe. Bryggerhuset is suitable for meetings of up to 50 people. Read more at Holt Gård's website, and contact the hosts for a successful meeting.

Fjøsnissens Verden – Family Park

Welcome home to the home of Fjøsnissen. Experience the Fjøsnissens playful antics and get up close to many fascinating animals. Enjoy a variety of games and activities in a fun setting that takes you back in time. The area is just the right size for adults to relax while children play freely.

Tickets are purchased at the entrance.

Cuddling with the animals

On the farm you can meet rabbits, alpacas, sheep, goats, pigs, pot-bellied pigs, hens, chickens, ducks and peacocks.

Food and drink

Feel free to bring your own food – on the farm there are hot grills for free use. In the area there are several benches and tables where you can enjoy lunch. The farm has its own kiosk with a selection of food and drinks.
