Roa Mikrobakeri
Roa Mikrobakeri is a family-run artisan bakery located on the first floor of Søndersrød Tunet in Helgeroa, near Larvik. The bakery specialises in sourdough bread, sweet pastries and cakes, using traditional baking methods, long fermentation times and stoneground flour from local mills. Each loaf is shaped by hand and given time to develop its flavour and texture.
Bread and Sweet Pastries
The bakery offers sourdough bread with a moist crumb and a dark crust, alongside cinnamon buns, cardamom buns and other sweet treats. The selection varies, with baked goods produced in small batches.
Roa Mikrobakeri also makes cakes for special occasions and offers gluten-free options by arrangement.
Local Craftsmanship
The bakery is run by Stian and Anne Marie Sletsjø, who focus on quality ingredients and traditional baking techniques. Flour is sourced from local producers, including Kvelde Mølle, and the sourdough bread undergoes a slow fermentation process before baking.
When surplus baked goods are available, they are placed on a shelf near the bakery entrance, where customers can pay using Vipps, Norway's mobile payment service.
