Sjoparken

“Sjøparken in Stavern is an idyllic area with a variety of activities and experiences. Visit the Nerdrum Museum to see iconic works by Odd Nerdrum. At the ‘Havfuglen’ Café, you can enjoy food and drinks under old chestnut trees at Agnes Torg. Kunst i Sjøparken (Art in Sjøparken) features 17 studios and galleries with local artists – painting, photography, ceramics, and more. People of all ages can explore and play on the Tangaroa raft, which was used during the filming of the Kon-Tiki movie in 2012. Additionally, there are plenty of activities in the area – you can try yoga, pilates, martial arts, bouldering, diving, and watersports. You’ll also find Agnes Brygghus and other local offerings. The local community in the summer town of Stavern also offers opportunities for boat trips, restaurants, shops, and many other activities.

Eidsfos Hovedgård

Eidsfos Hovedgård is today run as a foundation.

Reidvintunet

Ramberg School is furnished as a school museum so you can experience an old-fashioned school day in Norway.

At this school a Norwegian author Olav Duun was a teacher from 1908 – 1927, and his family lived in the first years at the second floor in an apartment.

Ramberg school is the oldest of five school buildings that the then Botne municipality built between 1893 and 1902. The school was originally located near Tvillingbro north of Holmestrand. The school here was in operation until 1952, and was then moved to Reidvintunet in the second half of the 1990s.

The other buildings are Nøtnes barn, Kåre Holt's poetry room, Stabburet and Gapahuken.

In the yard you can visit the herb garden and the perennial garden. The area is close to Møllerdammen.

Reidvin-tunet is run and developed today by the Association Reidvin-tunet, established in 1995.

Eidsfoss

Eidsfoss is located between the lakes Bergsvannet and Eikeren north in Vestfold. If you go there you will arrive at a charming village with an exciting history. Here you can enjoy the tranquillity, good food and drink and at the same time learn more about an important part of our cultural heritage; the iron works.

Take a tour along the cultural trail that goes through beautiful scenery and exciting historic buildings or book a tour in advance. At Hovedgården you can find out how the owners of the Jernverket lived while strolling through the partially restored baroque garden. There are people living in the three well-kept working areas today, and in some of them there are galleries and museum exhibitions.

In the summer both Eikern and Bergsvannet offer nice places for a swim.

Landhandelen is Norway’s oldest of its kind, which is still in operation, and here you are taken back to a time when the shop on the corner had it all.

At the Jernverket museum you can learn more about the 250-year history of the industrial company A / S Eidsfos verk and the local community that grew up around it. The well-preserved workers' homes form a historic framework form all the events that are held every year.

Olav Duun’s house

Together with his family, Olav Duun moved to Holmestrand in 1908 to work as a teacher.

Olav Duun's house is a red painted Swiss villa in Olav Duun's road 20.

Also when the house itself is closed, the garden is worth a visit. 

Herregården

The building was built in 1674 and was finished in 1677 just in time for Gyldenløve’s third wedding. “Herregården” stands as an example of continental 17th century baroque architecture in Norway, the building was also influenced by Norwegian building traditions. The building was protected in 1923, and it’s now a part of Larvik Museums.

In the east wing there’s a café that sells coffee and pancakes. And on the first floor there is remains of an old classroom as it once were used as a school.

The museum is closed during the summer 2025 due to renovation.

The museum is open every day in summer season from the mid og June to the mid of August. With fun activities for families and a chance to experience the counts life. While walking around the building a guide will tell you all the stories of the counts.

Except the summer season, Herregården is open to the public by appointment. Events take place throughout the year, but only on special occasions in the winter.

Tønsberg Coast Culture Centre

Tønsberg Coastal Culture Center is located by the Canal in Tønsberg, and was established in 1991. Both buildings and boats can be rented out for groups and events.

The Coast Culture Centre includes the quayside, vessels worthy of preservation, slip, shipyard for the restoration of vessels, smithy and foundry, motor repair yard, sail maker's workshop and rigging workshop.

The Coast Culture Centre is also the home port for the Arctic sailing ship "Havnøy".

The shanty choir was started in 2003, and usually practices at Riggerloftet on Monday evenings from 18-20.45.
