Secluded site with beaches, grasslands and rocks
Could you imagine strolling through the woods and jump into a little paradise? On the southwest of the Eftang peninsula lies a beautiful open area with both north and south facing beaches. Total length of beach is 150 meters. Between the beaches is a huge green lawn and around there are huge rocks to climb.
The coastal path passes the beach
If you want to combine a visit to Ølbergholmen with a discovery along beautiful trails, you have the opportunity to follow the coastal trail from Eftang, which passes the bathing ground.

Beautiful bathing resort
Gonstranda (The Gon Beach) is a beautiful seaside resort in Gonsbukta on the eastern side of Larviksfjorden. Here you will find both nice sandy beach, green grassy areas and smooth seashore rocks to climb.
Facilities
There is a dive board on the rocks (3 meters) and a swim raft in the sea. Gonstranda has both toilets and garbage dumps, and on the camping site you will find a kiosk when the sunny weather gives you cravings for an ice cream or a refreshing soda.
Hvittensand used to be one of the most popular swimming spots in the Larviksfjord, and has been for several generations. The reason is the large amounts of white, fine sand in beautiful dunes that stretched far out into the fjord and turned into an impressive beach paradise – and then it's no wonder that Hvittensand has been named one of Norway's finest beaches. Hvittensand has been laid up by Lågen over the past 5,000 years.
Be warned
There is a warning against swimming on the river side due to the current and variable depth conditions. Swimming in the wrong place can be dangerous, so be careful!
Partially destroyed by the port facility
Today, what used to be a bustling beach life in the summer is almost gone. This is due to the expansion of the ferry and container port at Revet on the opposite side of the estuary, where large quantities of rock have been added to the area and caused the water to rise into Hvittensand.
The beach areas vary from year to year
The beach line also changes naturally from year to year. At most, it could be up to about 300 meters long and the beach area up to about ten metres.
Hiking trail close by
The coastal path between Østre Halsen and Gon passes the swimming area.

There are rubbish bins on the beach, and along the coastal path there are also a toilet. Not accessible for wheelchair users.

Arnadal church was designed by Johannes Henrik Nissen, and has 185 seats.
The church was consecrated on 26 April 1882, by Bishop Essendrop.
In the 1950s, the church was restored. At the same time, the name of the church was also changed. It used to be called Arendal, but in order not to be confused with the town in Southern Norway, they changed this in 1952. The church was then rededicated in the autumn of 1956.
The altarpiece in the church shows Jesus walking with two disciples. The picture was painted by Otto Valstad, and is a copy of a picture made by Anton Dorph. In 1980, the previous organ in the church was replaced, when the previous one was damaged. The organ that is in the church today was built in Gothenburg, by Hammarberg.
Along the walls inside the church hang knotted carpets, designed by Hans Gerhard Sørensen.
There is both parking and a toilet. This also applies to HC.
