Entrepreneur “Walk of Fame”

In the heart of Sandefjord, you'll find the town's very own Walk of Fame. Outside Gründeriet in Dronningensgate, bronze stars set into the pavement celebrate people who have created jobs, built businesses and helped shape Sandefjord. Unlike Hollywood, this Walk of Fame honours entrepreneurs rather than film stars.

Celebrating Sandefjord's entrepreneurs
The first six entrepreneur stars were unveiled on 23 June 2022. Since then, more names have been added, representing everything from shipping and whaling to manufacturing, retail and technology. Among those honoured are shipping pioneer Christen Christensen, Jotun founder Odd

Gleditsch, physician and spa founder Heinrich Arnold Thaulow, and e-commerce entrepreneur Eric Sandtrø. Each recipient has made a significant contribution to Sandefjord's business community and shown a commitment to the town. The distinctive bronze stars were designed by artist Kurt Allan Sand.

A small stop with a big story
You'll find the stars in the pavement outside Gründeriet at Dronningensgate 5–7. Take a moment to explore the names and discover some of the people behind the businesses and industries that helped Sandefjord grow. You can learn more about the people honoured on Gründeriet's official Walk of Fame page (in Norwegian).

Discover more of Sandefjord's history
The Entrepreneur Walk of Fame is a great starting point for exploring Sandefjord's heritage. Visit Sandefjord Bad – Spa 1837–1939, founded by Heinrich Arnold Thaulow, which helped establish Sandefjord as a popular spa destination. At the Whaling Museum, you can discover the industry that brought jobs, prosperity and international connections to the town. You can also explore the Whaling Monument by the harbour, another reminder of Sandefjord's maritime past.

Practical information
The Entrepreneur Walk of Fame is located outside Gründeriet at Dronningensgate 5–7 in central Sandefjord. The bronze stars are set into the public pavement and can be viewed independently without booking a ticket or guided tour.
